I'm raising money to help relieve the financial burden from families that have a child being treated for a cancer diagnosis.
I am cutting my hair to fundraise to support the creation of bespoke wigs for children, provide essential financial assistance to families in need, and funding within paediatric oncology hospitals across the country, ensuring that every child facing cancer receives the care and support they deserve.
Last year my Nanna was diagnosed with cancer and lost all her hair when she went through chemo. We loved her all the same but it made me think about what it would be like to be a kid going through that. My mum told me people could donate their hair to make wigs for children/people who have lost their hair because of cancer and I said I would like to grow mine so I can give it to someone in need. Three years ago my Uncle passed away from cancer and sadly this year my Grampy passed away from cancer. I asked my parents how can you stop cancer and they said there isn't always a cure but medical professionals spend a lot of time researching and trialling new ways to help cure cancer. My wish is that we can one day live in a world where everyone who gets cancer can be cured.
