Fletchers big chop

I'm raising money to help relieve the financial burden from families that have a child being treated for a cancer diagnosis.

Hey there everyone who has taken the time to read this fundraising page. My name is Amanda and I am lucky enough to be the mum to one of the strongest, funniest and most caring little boys, his name is Fletcher. A couple of weeks after Fletcher’s 3rd birthday back in 2021, he was very sick and was referred for an MRI, that scan showed a tumour in his brain a little over 5cm in diameter. My tiny little baby had the biggest surgery of his life mere days after finding the tumour. After some tests he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, which is a cancer that attacks the brain and spine. He was very fortunate to have had an amazing surgeon who removed the tumour in one piece! Fletch was a very lucky boy, he had 30 rounds of radiation and 3 rounds of chemo, a super successful surgery and now nearly 5 years later is still cancer free! Over the years Fletch has gotten more of an understanding about cancer and how lucky he is to have had such a successful journey, he also understands that there are still so many kids fighting the battle he fought and so many families who need help like we did when he was going through treatment. For the last 2.5 years Fletch has grown his hair wanting to raise money for the kids and families who are still on their journey and those who have just started. Fletcher, myself, his Nan, Aunty Lish, Uncle Zac and Aunty Kimmy are all cutting and donating our hair to hopefully make some wigs and raise as much as we can for the families who need extra help. Fletch has chosen April for his event date because April is his 5 year mark, which means he is cured from medulloblastoma. So we are asking for donations to help these children and families go through the hardest times of their lives and if all you can do is share then please get our page around and help us raise money to help these families, together we can make today easier for kids with cancer and their families.
