Kenzie Wray

I'm raising money to help relieve the financial burden from families that have a child being treated for a cancer diagnosis.

I am cutting my hair to fundraise to support the creation of bespoke wigs for children, provide essential financial assistance to families in need, and funding within paediatric oncology hospitals across the country, ensuring that every child facing cancer receives the care and support they deserve.

Please support me in my fundraising journey, together we can make today easier for kids with cancer and their families.

My Hair....

Wednesday 30th Apr
I love my hair. It is long, blonde, and I have been growing it for 3 and a half years. I am so excited to cut my hair for wigs kids with cancer. I love my hair but I know there are kids that need it more then I do.

It was the 27th August 2018....

Tuesday 29th Apr
We were at my grandma's place on the Far North Coast of NSW on holidays. When my 3 year old brother woke this morning he had a cough and a temp. Mum gave him some panadol and he got better as the day went on, and then at about 2:30pm he went downhill.

Mum took him to the doctor. Then she took him to the hospital to have more in depth tests.
The results werent the greateast and then the next day they organised a medical plane to fly my brother, My mum and myself to Westmead Childrens hospital because they thought he had Leukaemia and he needed a bone marrow test.

This started our long journey with the Oncology Treatment centre at Westmead Childrens Hospital.

Lachlan doesn't have Leukaemia, but he does have a rare genetic autoimmune disease called Autoimmunelymphoproliferative syndrome.

THANKYOU!!!!

Tuesday 29th Apr
A massive thankyou to everyone who has already donated to Wigs for Kids!!

We are so beyond thankful for you all and your amazing generosity.

Why Wigs For Kids

Monday 28th Apr
When I was 11 months Old, we were on holidays at  my Grandmothers house 12 hours away. My 3 year old brother Lachlan wasn't well so mum took him to the doctors and then to hospital. They did lots of tests and he was flown to Westemead Childrens Hospital in Sydney the next day with my mum, and I had to go as well because I was so young.
The doctors thought he had Leukaemia.
They did all the tests and found that he didnt have Leukaemia, but he does have a rare genetic autoimmune disease.

Lachlan continues to go to the Oncology Treatment centre every 6 months for regular checkups. The doctors are amazing. But so is everyone in the Oncology treatment centre.
Lachlan loves getting the special gifts each time he goes to his appointmnents. He gets chocolate, food, toys, and so much more.
We found out that some of the money  donations from Wigs for Kids actually goes to buying these gifts and care packs for the Oncology Treatment centre.
So I want to say thank you.

The decision to cut my hair

Monday 28th Apr
Mum mentioned that I would need to get my hair cut ready to start back at school this term.
Because my hair is so long she said "maybe you should donate your hair for wigs for kids".
I said yes I want to mum.
I love my long hair and have been growing it for a long time, but I have a friend from kids club called Eliza who had cancer.  I wanted to do something nice to show how proud I am of her, and how hard she has fought in her cancer journey.

My name is Kenzie
