I'm raising money to help relieve the financial burden from families that have a child being treated for a cancer diagnosis.

I am cutting my hair to fundraise to help sick kids throughout Australia.  Not only will my lovely locks be used to make a wig, your donations to the cause that means so much to me, will allow Kids with Cancer Foundation to continue with their financial support of families that have a child suffering cancer.

Monday 23rd Jan
Today is the day. Today we cut 34cm off. Ava was so nervous, but in the end she was like “mum, can i brush it by myself now?” Safe to say, she loves it. I miss her long her, but i know she will grow it back once again. Thanks to everyone who donated xx It made sticking to a goal more achievable 🤍

Wednesday 23rd Nov
Wow, it’s getting so close. We have officially gotten down to her waistline. At this point, its about maintaining the health of Ava’s hair. We are using Moroccan oil to keep the lustre of the hair, but to also keep tangles out. Ava is becoming attached to the length of her hair but I'm sure she will love the easier maintenance of a LOB style cut.

Wednesday 28th Sep
A bit delayed in my monthly update… Ava’s hair is oh so long, she is loving the length on it. When asked is she ready to cut it she now gets cold feet. We still have 4 full months to go of growing 🤍 At this stage i’m thinking a long bob, as anyone with thick hair knows you need length/weight to keep it down. Plus she said she still wants to look girlie with hair. Time will tell how the cut goes. Thanks to everyone who helped reached our goal.

Continuous Growth

Friday 29th Jul
Ava’s hair continues to grow. I wont lie, i am looking forward to the big snip. This might make it more manageable for school in the morning . We still have 7months of growing to go , the days are flying. Ill try remember to measure how long it is. I keep saying ill do it, but hasn't of yet. Sorry. Again, thanks for your donations🤍 we cant wait to donate Ava’s hair 🤍

So another month has passed.
Its gone by so quick that i forgot to do my monthly update, i guess better late than never as they say.

Tomorrow ill be measuring Ava’s hair as i wanna see what growth she gets per month. When its this long i cant even tell if im honest..

I asked Ava tonight how she feels about cutting her hair, she’s getting nervous & wants to keep it. But She’s come this far im sure by Jan 23, she’ll be glad to lose it as its so annoying to brush and needs a weekly blow dry to keep it from tangling .

No hair, dont care .

My daughter is 6years old and has long luscious thick hair..
She questioned me once when she saw a kid on my social media account with no hair. 
I explained what the child is going through and from there, together we made a decision to grow as her hair as long as can before she gets a snip.
