The Human Sheep Project
Childhood cancer is, sadly, something my family and I face every single day. We’re committed to doing everything we can to fight this horrible disease and support others walking the same path.
When my daughter was diagnosed in March 2024, I happened to be sporting a neat buzz cut – easy to manage! Knowing she would likely lose her hair through treatment, I decided to grow mine so I could stand alongside her in solidarity. After months of growing, I asked Beatrix what she thought – and let’s just say she didn’t exactly share my enthusiasm!
So instead, I kept growing with a new purpose: to donate my hair so it could be made into wigs for kids – a service that was generously provided to my daughter too. My shaggy look caught on, and before long a couple of other dads from school jumped in as well. And so, the Human Sheep Project was born.
Now it’s shearing time! While the hair comes off, we’re also rattling the tin to raise funds for the amazing Kids with Cancer Foundation. Every dollar makes a difference – helping kids and families through the toughest of times.
A massive shout-out to my fellow Human Sheep, Matt Sampson and Travis Purton. Absolute legends for rolling up your sleeves and joining the grow!
