I'm raising money to help relieve the financial burden from families that have a child being treated for a cancer diagnosis.
I’m cutting my hair to raise funds in support of creating bespoke wigs for Kids with Cancer.
Your generosity will help provide essential financial assistance to families in need and support paediatric oncology hospitals across the country—ensuring that every child facing cancer receives the care, comfort, and confidence they deserve.
My hair donation journey began when I was inspired by my sister-in-law, who donated her hair three years ago. Since my early teens, when I was first allowed to dye and style my hair, I’ve always been known for experimenting with it. I’ve been fortunate to have long, healthy hair that many people admired—sometimes more than I did. What most didn’t know was that I’ve also struggled with severe scalp psoriasis. Managing it requires expensive treatments, and for years I kept it hidden, feeling anxious and self-conscious whenever people paid too much attention to my hair.
But to overcome your fears, you have to face them—and that’s what brings me here. It may sound simple, but I thought: why not donate my hair to someone who would truly appreciate it and find joy in it?
When I started this journey in 2022, my hair was shoulder-length with blonde highlights, layers framing my face, and a V-shaped cut at the back. I wanted to donate healthy, natural, chemical-free hair, so I first grew out the dye—a process that took about a year. Then, I worked to even out the length for another year. Once I reached that goal, I decided to grow it for one more year so I could still keep some length after donating.
As I prepare to cut my hair, I do so with the hope that it brings a sense of confidence, comfort, and normalcy to children bravely facing cancer. Hair may seem like a small thing, but for a child who has lost theirs, a wig can restore not just their reflection in the mirror—but their smile, their spirit, and a piece of their childhood.
Please support me in this fundraising journey—together, we can make today a little easier and brighter for kids with cancer and their families.
