I'm raising money to help relieve the financial burden from families that have a child being treated for a cancer diagnosis.

I am cutting my hair to fundraise to help sick kids throughout Australia.  Not only will my lovely locks be used to make a wig, your donations to the cause that means so much to me, will allow Kids with Cancer Foundation to continue with their financial support of families that have a child suffering cancer.

Thursday 2nd May
Today was the day I sent off my locks of hair to find a new home. Thank you to all who have supported, donated, laughed and cried. It has truly been an amazing journey . I truly hope that a child finds comfort and joy with my hair. Again, thank you to everyone, without you this would not have been possible. Huge shout out to my wife and daughter for be amazing humans. To Colossal Barbers (In the D2E @ Delacombe) for donating your time and for the final donation that helped us cross the line to reach our fund raising goal. Absolutely amazed by the support I received :)

And just like that... Hair is ready for shipping.

D-Day is upon.. well... me..

So today is the day that I bid farewell to my hair and hope that someone out there gets as much joy as I have , keeping my head warm in the past few months.

Nervous, excited..  Mixed bag of emotions (I Have grown rather fond of having long hair.. As has my family, daughter especially.)

As I have said to my daughter "Someone who does not have hair will be able to use my hair and help them feel themselves again.. And my hair can always grow back"..

Did not stop the tears from rolling down her little cheeks.

I will miss you hair.  

And the beard is staying (Sorry for everyone who kept asking me to shave my beard).

Thursday 4th Apr
In less than 30 days , The hair I have been growing out and not cut for over 2 years, closer to 3 years, will be shaved off and sent off to a very worthy cause.

Although I will miss having all this hair, I believe my daughter will miss my hair more than I will since she has taken to learning how to Plait my hair, putting it into pony tails and brushing it out like I am one of her dolls.

WOW is all I Can say.  The support and kind words I have received for my efforts for a great cause have not gone unheard or unrecognised.  

Thanks to everyone who has donated up until today. It is truly appreciated and I am sure the kids we will help will truly appreciate the sheer generosity of my global network.

Although I am several weeks away from going from Fabio to the Rock. All I can say is, keep on sharing, keep on supporting this cause.

If you have the capacity to donate, that is great, else there is no pressure at all. If you can share this amongst your own networks I would greatly appreciate it :)

The Time has come!

So the time has come my friends.  Where I am going to shave my locks for a good cause..

I Have booked in for a hair cut with Colossal Barbers (https://www.facebook.com/ColossalBarbers/) for the 29th April 2024.

This gives me a couple of months to get the donations together and bring my daughter and wife to terms that I won't have any more hair for a while.
