I'm raising money to help relieve the financial burden from families that have a child being treated for a cancer diagnosis.

I am cutting my hair to fundraise to support the creation of bespoke wigs for children, provide essential financial assistance to families in need, and funding within paediatric oncology hospitals across the country, ensuring that every child facing cancer receives the care and support they deserve.

Zaleighs why...

As many of you are already aware, Zaleigh has been through more in the past three months than any child should ever have to experience. Our world was turned upside down in a matter of minutes, and there were times when we truly didn't know if she would survive.

It all began while she was at gymnastics. Without any warning, she suddenly couldn't walk, couldn't talk, and couldn't keep her eyes open. She was rushed to our local hospital, where doctors quickly realised how critical her condition was. Zaleigh was placed into an induced coma before being transferred by Priority 1 ambulance to Perth Children's Hospital, where an incredible team of specialists was waiting for her.

We later learned that Zaleigh had suffered a brain haemorrhage caused by a cavernous malformation (cavernoma). She underwent emergency brain surgery and spent days in ICU , followed by many more weeks in hospital and ongoing rehabilitation. Every day has brought new challenges, but through it all she has shown incredible courage, strength, and determination.

During her treatment, Zaleigh lost much of her hair due to surgery and the long weeks spent in hospital. Rather than letting that experience define her, she has chosen to turn it into something positive. She has made the incredibly selfless decision to shave her head and donate her hair to Wigs for Kids, hoping to help another child who is facing their own difficult journey.
