BIG thank you!
In a few weeks time, I will be cutting and donating my hair for the 3rd time. This year I will also be fundraising to support the creation of bespoke wigs for children, provide essential financial assistance to families in need, and funding within paediatric oncology hospitals across the country, ensuring that every child facing cancer receives the care and support they deserve.
This time round feels different for me. I am working as a Social Worker in Oncology Services, which makes this feel more meaningful and unique. Everyday I meet with patients who are struggling in some shape or form with their cancer diagnoses. Some who I have seen have lost their hair, and express how much this has reduced their quality of life, increased social isolation and struggles with mental health. I often hear about the loss of control felt over what is happening to their body.
I hope by donating my hair and fundraising, this helps to make even a small difference to those struggling with cancer and their families. Thank you so much for your donations and support. Big love!!
