I'm raising money to help relieve the financial burden from families that have a child being treated for a cancer diagnosis.

I am cutting my hair to fundraise to help sick kids throughout Australia.  Not only will my lovely locks be used to make a wig, your donations to the cause that means so much to me, will allow Kids with Cancer Foundation to continue with their financial support of families that have a child suffering cancer.

After becoming pregnant with our second child, I decided longer hair - that could be tied up - would suit best the lifestyle of a mum of two... Life had other plans for us.

We learnt halfway through the pregnancy that Elijah had a major heart defect. If we were extremely lucky it would allow us only to meet him and spend a very, very short time with him post birth. The more likely outcome being that it would take him from us before such a time. Unfortunately, just over 2 years ago, he died while still inside of me. We never got to hold him in our arms and tell him how much we loved him and what he meant to us.

I was able to donate my milk at the time, but I wanted to be able to do more. At the same time this was happening to us, a friend was watching a child battle cancer. I decided to continue to grow my hair, but now I had a purpose. That purpose was to grow it long enough that it could be made into a wig for a child that deserved a better hand in life. Like my friend's child and like my Elijah. A child with a shot at life, who deserved the confidence a wig could provide.

I’m happy to report that my hair is FINALLY long enough to get the chop, but I just need one more thing and that involves YOU. Before I take that final step and get a cut, can I ask for a donation from you? Any amount will do, whatever you have to give to help children, and their families, get through extremely difficult times.
