I'm raising money to help relieve the financial burden from families that have a child being treated for a cancer diagnosis.
I am cutting my hair to fundraise to help sick kids throughout Australia. Not only will my lovely locks be used to make a wig, your donations to the cause that means so much to me, will allow Kids with Cancer Foundation to continue with their financial support of families that have a child suffering cancer.
A few years ago I watched a video about a young boy growing his hair to donate to wigs for kids undergoing chemo. I was inspired by this boy’s selfless attitude and thought it was something I could do.
Having always had short hair I thought it would be easy enough without realising the commitment it would actually take.
Growing your hair takes time. The awkward in between stage and the daily comments about how ridiculous you look were the unexpected part of the journey.
Over four years later, one aborted attempt, much self doubt and almost giving up a few times my hair is now long enough to donate to wigs for kids with cancer.
Please donate to the cause, and share with your family and friends to help kids and their families whose lives have been torn apart by cancer, together we can all make a difference.
