I am cutting my hair to fundraise to support the creation of bespoke wigs for children, provide essential financial assistance to families in need, and funding within paediatric oncology hospitals across the country, ensuring that every child facing cancer receives the care and support they deserve.

Wednesday 8th JanAt just six years old, Alyssa is proving that generosity has no age limit. For her entire life, she has never had her hair cut, watching it grow long and strong. Her cascading locks, now nearly reaching her knees, are more than just a source of pride—they’re a symbol of hope for kids battling cancer.
Inspired by a story she heard about children who lose their hair during treatment, Alyssa decided to do something extraordinary. She’s raising funds to donate her hair so it can be made into wigs for young cancer patients. “I want them to feel happy and pretty,” she says with a shy but determined smile.
This isn’t just a haircut for Alyssa. By partnering with a local charity, she learned that her donation could help make not one, but multiple wigs for children who are undergoing chemotherapy. The cost of creating these wigs is high, so Alyssa has set up a fundraiser to ensure that her donation not only provides hair but also covers the cost of turning it into beautiful wigs.
Her campaign has captured the hearts of her community. Friends, family, and even strangers are rallying around her cause, inspired by her selflessness and empathy. Her parents, bursting with pride, are documenting the journey, hoping Alyssa’s story will inspire others to give back in their own way.
As the day of the big haircut approaches, Alyssa is both excited and a little nervous. “It’s going to feel weird without my long hair,” she admits, “but I know it’s going to make someone really happy.”
