Raising Funds for the Kids
I am cutting my glorious mop of 80s rockstar hair to help fundraise for kids with cancer throughout Australia. A little champion somewhere will no doubt be on their way to fronting a legendary rock band in the near future with their new hair.
I maybe exaggerating but the confidence of a child with cancer and no hair can be immeasurably improved by simply having a head of hair so they don’t feel different from their friends.
Kids with cancer is a tough gig and sadly I am part of a family with children who have lost their battles to this disease. It’s epically hard on those kids and just seeing a radiant smile from the moment they put a wig on makes cutting and donating my hair all worth it.
My hair will only be some of one wig made and wigs need at least 4 donors per wig made. Also the cost of one wig can range from $1500 to $3000+ and they last approximately 1-3 years depending on use. This is a big expensive burden for many families but thankfully there are amazing charities that donate wigs to children’s hospital oncology wards just like this one through Ella Wigs.
