I'm celebrating 10 years cancer free by donating my hair and raising money for sick kids and their families
Almost 10 years ago I was sitting in my specialists office. It was my 24th birthday and Dr Pham calmly told me the tumor was most likely cancerous.
That appointment was proceeded by many CT's, MRI's, PET scans, surgery to remove the tumor and part of my facial nerve, 33 radiation treatments, chemotherapy and a complete life transformation. My diagnoses was Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of the parotid gland, a rare form of salivary gland cancer.
This time in my life was full of love and support yet so lonely at times. Nothing can prepare anyone for the feeling of a cancer diagnoses.
To celebrate being cancer free for a decade I want to make a difference in someone else's life. My heart aches for families supporting their little ones through such a difficult and uncertain time.
Not only will my locks be used to make a wig, your donations will allow Kids with Cancer Foundation to continue with their financial support of families that have a child suffering cancer.
Your donations will determined how much of my hair I donate! Let's try and get 40cm so a little girl can have a long hair wig!!

$3000 - 30cm
$4000+ - 40cm!

What the heck has happened in the last 24 hours!?!?
Tuesday 1st Jun I'm feeling the love and slightly overwhelmed after returning home from work and checking in on the fundraiser to see that I've raised 85% of my goal in 24 hours! What an incredible effort from all of you generous people.Now there is certainly no backing out of my chopping 40cm from my hair but I had hoped to fund raise for at least a couple of weeks... so for the sake of the kids I'm slightly tweaking the goal post!!!
